Which should be the official language of India?? Hindi or English??

I think English must be the official language of India
because its the only language that is universally
accepted and spoken world wide . But before declaring it
as an official language the GOI must make some
considerable efforts to promote English up to the root
level so that every Indian could very well speak and
understand it.
Also ,besides all the efforts the importance of Hindi
must remain same for all the Hindustanis(i.e it was,it
is,and it must always be considered as our mother
tongue).
This was my opinion!

According to India's culture Hindi must be there along with english as official language.
If there would be only then this would be insult of our indian culture and mother tongue.
There are many people in our country who don't know about Hindi too(I mean to say that many people are not able to speak in Hindi then how they can adopt English.
According to me govt. First work upon Hindi to strength the people.
Here I want to take the example of other big countries such as America China Japan Europe, there their mother tongue is used as official language.


In our country too firstly Hindi was selected for official language but due to the problem of South that they were unable to understand Hindi, English was preferred to them only to unite our country.

As English has became universal language govt. Allowed English and Hindi both for official language.

And according to me both must be used as official language because Hindi is our identity.

And because of Hindi we are known as Hindustani...
